Harry Alexander Bevard Sr.

A funeral service for Harry A. Bevard Sr, 66 of Newark, will be held 1:00 P.M. Wednesday at Brucker-Kishler Funeral Home, 985 North 21st Street, Newark, with Pastor Tom Myers presiding. Interment will follow at Rocky Fork Cemetery.
Mr. Bevard, retired from Rockwell International-Arvin/Mentor, passed away December 2, 2006 at his home. He was also owner/operator of H&A Water Well Drilling and built several homes. He was born March 2, 1940, in Newark, to his parents W. Edward and M. Grace (Jenkins) Bevard.
Harry was a member of Deathwind Long Rifle Association, Newark Moose Lodge and U.A.W. Local #1037. He enjoyed fishing and traveling but his love for family and friends was the most important thing in his life.
Mr. Bevard is survived by his wife of 34 years, Anita L. (Bates) Bevard; daughter Faith Holly (Vince Power) Bevard of Columbus; sons Harry Alexander Jr. and David Edward Bevard both of Newark; sisters Margaret Lou (Carlin) Young of Jacksonville, FL, Bernece Grace (Kenneth) Boyd and Roberta Eileen (Tom) Craig both of Newark; brothers Albert Ray (Marlene) Bevard of Newark, Gary Dean (Karen) Bevard of St. Louisville, Larry Gene (Shirley) Bevard of Newark, Frank Leroy (Debbie) Bevard of St. Louisville and half brother James (Charlene) Jenkins of Newark; two grandchildren Nathan and Ryan Power; mother-in-law Lillian Bates of Newark; brothers-and sisters-in-law Ralph (Nancy) Bates of Jacksonville, FL, Dan (Lisa) Bates of Akron and Mary (Henry) Anthony of Newark; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Harry was preceded in death by two brothers William Edward Jr. and Charles Lee Bevard; father-in-law Ralph Bates.
The family will receive friends 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Brucker-Kishler Funeral Home. The family suggests memorial gifts, in Harry's name, to Hospice of Central Ohio, 2269 Cherry Valley Road, Newark, OH 43055.
