Alice Marie Gerbig, 93, of Martinsburg, OH, formerly of Barberton, OH died Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at Licking Memorial Hospital in Newark, OH. She was born January 21, 1931 in Akron to the late Russell and Alma (Rudsit) Johnson.

Alice was a veteran of the U.S. Army WAC. She owned and operated Alice Marie's Beauty Salon in Barberton for over 50 years.

She is survived by her children, Stephen (Carla) Gerbig, George (Deborah) Gerbig III, and Tammy (Jason) Glancy; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; brother, Robert (Margery) Johnson; sister, Joane Lepley; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Gerbig Jr; son, Michael Gerbig; daughter, Paula Goff; and brother, Franklin Johnson.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Alice to Southwest Church of Christ, 516 33rd St., Barberton, OH 44203 and/or Utica Church of Christ, P.O. Box 532, Utica, OH 43080.

Visitation will be held Friday, May 31, 2024 at Southwest Church of Christ, 516 33rd St., Barberton, OH from 10- 11 am where the funeral service will follow at 11:00 am. Burial will follow the service at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery where military honors will be presented in recognition of Alice's service to our country.

A memorial service will take place in mid June with an exact date to be posted soon.
