Amy Lee (Grandstaff) Bentley, age 60, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2025, at the Selma Markowitz Care Center. She was born in Johnstown, Ohio, on March 31, 1964, to the late Douglas L. and Sharon L. (Mount) Grandstaff.
Amy graduated from Heath High School and Licking County Joint Vocational School in 1984. After graduation, she worked at various daycare centers in Licking County, where her love and compassion for children shone through every day. Amy's caring nature and pure soul touched everyone she encountered. She was known for her sweet, kind, and unselfish demeanor, always seeing the good in others and greeting everyone she met with a contagious smile.
Family was everything to Amy. She had a special ability to recall family holidays and adventures, often remembering moments from as early as the age of two. She was particularly passionate about her family and pets, especially her beloved dog, Lindsey. Amy was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes football fan, and if the team was playing, you could count on her to be glued to the TV, cheering them on with all her energy. She was also a devoted WWE fan, always front and center when her favorite wrestlers took to the screen. If Amy's favorite song came on, she was the first to hit the dance floor, spreading joy and excitement wherever she went.
Amy's positive energy and vibrant spirit left an indelible mark on everyone she met. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Amy is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, Wesley E. Bentley, her sister, Jennifer Grandstaff and her partner Lisa Eischeid. In addition to her parents, Amy is preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Ruth Jo Anne Colwell Bentley.
