Arthur K. Anderson

A funeral service for Arthur K. Anderson, 96, of Thornville, OH, will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at Cornerstone Church, with Pastor Todd Garman officiating. Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Wednesday prior to the service at the church, 4905 Jacksontown Rd. Heath, OH 43056.

Art passed away July 31, 2026, surrounded by his family at his residence. He was born June 12, 1930, in Minneola, KS, to the late Leonard and Winifred (Rudd) Anderson.

Art served his country in the United States Navy. Following his military service, he enjoyed a successful career as a project engineer with TRW, from which he retired. A man of deep faith, Arthur was a devoted member of Cornerstone Church and the Emmaus Community, where he found fellowship, friendship, and opportunities to serve others. He was an avid painter, golfer, bowler, and writer. He found great joy in pursuing his creative talents and sharing his many interests with family and friends.

He is survived by his daughter, Della (Brad) Schmitt; son, Rodney (Cindy) Anderson; sisters-in-law, Dottie Anderson and Joan Anderson; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren, and several great-great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Janet D. (Smith) Anderson, whom he married on August 27, 1950; daughters, Julia Kellenbarger and Arlene Walters; brothers, Leroy Anderson, Wayne Anderson, and Dale Anderson, and sister, Norma Teague.
