Arthur "Arty" Ned Williams, 72, of Newark died Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at his home. He was born January 11, 1954 in Columbus to the late Herbert and Wilma Marie (Bucy) Williams.

Arty retired from AEP as Chief Engineer, where he built a respected and accomplished career. He was a talented musician who played drums and sang, joyfully sharing his love of music with his family. An avid outdoorsman, Arty was a skilled hunter, fisherman, and trapper who cherished time in nature, especially taking peaceful walks outdoors. He had a deep interest in Native American history and took pride in researching and collecting Native American artifacts. Arty also loved spending time on his boat, finding great peace and happiness out on the water.

He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Loletta "Sue" Williams; children, Gerald (Tammy) Thomas, James (Margaret) Thomas, Rory (Dawn) Thomas, Shellie (Matthew Bowman) Williams and Tina Marie (Will) Williams; grandchildren, Jared, Jordan, Emily, Phillip, Cindy, Jennifer, Breck Arthur, Mitchell and Hallie; siblings, Larry (Debbie) Williams and Susan Weatherford; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Monday, February 16, 2026 from 12-2 pm at the Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st St., Newark where the funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm.
