Augustus Lombardo, age 91, of Heath, passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on September 17, 2024. Augustus was born on May 5, 1933, to the late Frank and Angeline (Annarino) Lombardo, in Newark, Ohio.

He enjoyed golfing, bowling, fishing, working in the yard and taking trips to Myrtle Beach. Gus worked for the Heath City Schools as a bus driver and then retired from Rockwell International. He served in the U.S. Navy, was a member of the Newark VFW Post #1060 and the Newark American Legion Post #85. Most importantly he was a family man, loved spending time with his wife, kids, grandkids and great grandkids.

Gus is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Virginia Lombardo; children, Frank (Christy) Lombardo, Diana (Will) Loewendick, Joe (Joyce) Lombardo; grandchildren, Lindsay (Ryan) Wahl, Natasha (Eric) Lauvray, Caden, Paige and Gianna Simons, Brice Carpenter; great grandchildren, Kolsen, Siye, Kash, and Beckytt; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Jeff Lombardo; grandchildren, Mike and Stacy Carpenter; and four sisters.

Family will receive friends on Sunday, September 22, 2024, from 2 - 4 PM at the Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home. His service will be held on Monday, at 1 PM with Chaplin Mark Pierce officiating. A burial will take place in Newark Memorial Gardens immediately following the service.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Hospice of Central Ohio and Licking Memorial Hospital, floors 2 and 4, the staff was truly amazing.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made in his name to Hospice of Central Ohio or to the Licking County Humane Society.
