Barbara J. Andersen, age 87, of Newark and formerly of Granville, passed away on January 14, 2024. Barbara was born February 5, 1936, to the late Irvin and Florence (Hoerman) Curry, in Lamar, Colorado.

She is survived by her loving children, Sharon (Neil) Phelps, Dave (Michele Orges) Andersen, Bob (Jeanne) Andersen; grandchildren, Jessica (Charlie Alleman) Phelps, Mike Phelps, Emily Andersen; sister, Erwina (Jack) Hadley. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Ray Andersen.

She was a member of New Hope Lutheran Church and had been employed by COTC/OSUN and Kline's Department Store. In addition, she and Ray, owned and operated Jolly Pirate Donuts in Newark for 30 years.

Friends and family may visit on Friday, February 2, 2024, from 5 - 7 PM at the Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home. Her celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 3, at 10 AM at New Hope Lutheran Church, 1137 Sharon Valley Rd, Newark, OH 43055 with Pastor Mark Hartsough officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery.
