Barbara A. Franks, age 85, of Newark, passed away on April 2, 2024, at OSU Medical Center. Barbara was born on January 9, 1939, to the late Silas and Lucille (Welch) Billman, in Newark, Ohio.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Ohio Country-Western Music Association, Country Music Fellowship Org., and volunteered at the L.A.C.P. She enjoyed singing, loved all kinds of flowers and had a great collection of lighthouses. Barbara's very special interests are E.J.'s Country Music Show and E.J. & Barbs Pickin N Grinnin. She loved Spring and Fall and for the Winters not too cold, and the Summers not too hot.

Barbara is survived by her children, Jerry Lawrence, Kathy (Kenny) Walkinshaw; stepchildren, Dan Franks, Corby Franks, Truda Sidel, Betsy Nethers; grandchildren, Cameron (Amanda) Lawrence, Jennifer Holiday; great grandson, Bradley Beumel; sister, Loretta Hayes.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, E.J. Franks; stepson, E.J. Franks Jr.; sisters, Lois Rogers and Audrey Billman.

A visitation Saturday, April 6, 2024, from 3-4 pm at the Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, where her service will immediately follow at 4 pm with Pastor Wally McLaughlin officiating. Burial will be held at a later date in Wilson Cemetery.
