Benny L Hauman, a proud Veteran of the United States Army, passed away on July 10, 2026, at the age of 84 in Newark, Ohio. He was born October 12, 1941, in Newark to the late John L. and Mary (Hughes) Hauman.

In 1965, Benny got a bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering from the Ohio State University and received his masters degree while in Germany. He answered the call to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Army where he achieved the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Benny faithfully and honorably retired from the United States Army on October 12, 2000. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Five Overseas Service Bars, and the Army Commendation Medal-1st OLC.

Benny brought the same dedication and sense of duty learned in the military to his everyday life. Outside of work, Benny was passionate about cars. He loved fast, sporty vehicles and enjoyed working on cars of all kinds, whether it was performing maintenance, making repairs, or improving their performance. Benny was a member of Rocky Fork Church of God.

He is survived by his wife, Luz Marina Hauman; her children, daughter, Karla M Barrera, son, Carlos Barrera and his family, son, Edward Hauman; grandson, Benjamin; cousins, Kathy (Bryan) Priest, Norma (Hughes) Prince; and numerous other cousins that loved him dearly.

Benny was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Hauman; numerous aunts and uncles.

A inurnment memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at 11am, at Cedar Hill Cemetery with Pastor Randy officiating with full military honors.
