Betty Jane Baumgartner, 79, of Newark, died Saturday, August 31, 2024 at Altercare Newark North. She was born November 10, 1944 in Bradford, PA to the late Tom C. and Mary I. (Woodard) Williams.

Betty graduated from Utica H.S. class of 1962. She attended OSU Newark and worked at several Licking County social service agencies throughout her working career. She never missed an episode of Jeopardy in the past 40 years and attended a live taping of the show in 2002. She enjoyed reading, puzzles, tending to her flower garden, and spending time with her grandchildren, family and close friends.

She is survived by her son, Ed (Tiffany) Baumgartner; grandchildren, Mackenzie (Tanner Blake), Andrew, Delaney, and Blake Baumgartner; brothers, Ralph (Sandra), Larry (Linda) and John (Chris) Williams; and several nieces and nephews.

A special thanks to all the doctors and nurses in Newark that treated and cared for Betty in the past two years.

Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Betty to Licking County Aging Partners.

Visitation will be held Saturday, September 21, 2024 from 2-3 pm at the Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st St., Newark where a celebration of life will follow visitation at 3:00 pm.
