Betty L. Finkle, 95, of Newark, died Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at her home. She was born August 27, 1928 in Newark to the late Martin and Katherine (O'Dell) Jones.

Betty was a longtime 4-H Advisor. She was an active member of St. Francis Catholic Church where she served Eucharistic Adoration and helped provide food for bereavement lunches. She was a loving wife, a devoted mother to her four daughters, and loving grandmother to her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughters, Catherine Ward, Carol Spangler, Colleen (Alan) McDougal, and Christy (Dave) Huy; grandchildren, Fiona Ward, Justin Ward, Jonathan (Amanda) Ward, Ryan (Janelle) Spangler, Robb (Mallory) Spangler, Rashelle Spangler, Katelyn (Paul) Boeshart, Stephanie (Eric) Beaty, Molly McDougal, Alex Huy, and Aiden Huy; great grandchildren, Christopher, Briana, Emma, Dylan, Dex, Dane, Gracelyn, Christopher, Donald, Ellie, James, and Blaire; and sister-in-law, Anna Lou Jones.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald R. Finkle; great granddaughters, Faith Beatty and Ashley Bartlett; son-in-law, Thomas Ward; and brother, Robert Jones.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 26, 2023 from 5-7pm at the Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st St., Newark where the funeral service will be Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at 10:00am with Father Mike Gentry officiating. Burial will follow the service at St. Joseph Cemetery.
