Beulah Jean (Rine) Blethen, age 88, formerly of Newark, Ohio, passed away Sunday, January 28, 2024, in Franklin, Tennessee. She was born in Licking County, Ohio on February 11, 1935, to the late Dora and Mary (Baker) Rine.

She is survived by her children, Roger Blethen, Robert Blethen, Charles (Diana) Blethen, Jennifer (Jerry) Fazenbaker, and Donna Riordan; Stepsons, Edward Balzer, John Balzer and Richard (Linda) Balzer; siblings, Paul (Charlotte) Rine, Bertie (Gail) Hill and Dorothy Flowers; Grandchildren, Michael (Tessa) Fazenbaker, Mathew Blethen, Jerry Fazenbaker Jr., Carrie (Adam) Ray, Joshua Rowe, Kendra Blethen, Kyle (Olivia) Blethen, Adam (Lindsay) Blethen, Daniel (Hillary) Blethen, Tiffany Blethen and Chris (Katherine) Balzer. Greatgrandchildren, Parker Ray, Olivia Ray, Kyla Blethen, Payton Blethen, Hazel Blethen, Salem Blethen, Noah Blethen, Elias Blethen, Jasper Blethen, Vera Blethen, Audry Balzer, Cameron Balzer, Rachel Balzer and a host of nieces and nephews who called her Aunt Beulah or Aunt Boo.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Edward Raymond Blethen; son-in-Law Mark Riordan; siblings Perry Rine, Robert Rine, John Rine, Carl Rine, Louis Rine, Irene Morrison and Inez Barcus.

Beulah was a member of the Barrett Church of the Nazarene for most of her life. While there she wore many hats. Her love for Jesus Christ was evident in everything she did. She was the first person who volunteered to cook a meal, take someone to the doctor, babysit, work in the Nursery, teach a Sunday School Class, and be the star in every play or skit that was ever put on at the church. She helped lead many souls to find Jesus. Her life was an example and testament, not of being a Christian, but of truly being Christlike. She was a wonderful cook and is probably best remembered for her special ham glaze and potato salad. She was energized and all too happy to make it anytime requested.

Visitation will be held from 10-11am Saturday, February 3, 2024, with an 11am Celebration of Life at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st, St. Newark, Ohio 43055. A graveside service will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery immediately following the Celebration of Life.
