Brandon Matthew Swick, age 36, of Newark, passed away peacefully in his sleep Wednesday, October 22, 2025. He was born August 24, 1989, to Timothy A. Swick and Yvette R. Athey.

Brandon was a 2008 graduate of Utica High School, where he proudly played football and was well-known for his humor and fun-loving personality. He had an incredible ability to make people laugh and brighten any room he entered.

Brandon had a deep love for animals—whether it was lizards, dogs, or anything in between, he always had a furry (or scaly) companion by his side. He enjoyed relaxing with video games on his PS5, pulling harmless pranks, and sharing laughs with those he loved most. More than anything, Brandon cherished his family and the time they spent together.

He is survived by his loving mother and stepfather, Yvette and Tom; sister, Katelyn Swick; adored niece, Karleigh Jo Campolo; maternal grandparents, Linda and Keith Maines; grandmother, Kathy Swick; paternal grandmother, Mary Swick; uncle, Matt "Unc" (Liz) Athey; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunt, uncles and friends. He also leaves behind his loyal dog, Bicky, who was his constant companion.

Brandon was welcomed into Heaven by his father and hero, Timothy Swick; paternal grandfather, Earl Swick; and maternal grandfather, William Athey Jr.

In honor of Brandon's love for animals, memorial contributions may be made to the Licking County Humane Society.

No funeral services will be held at this time, but the family encourages loved ones to honor Brandon by sharing laughter, kindness, and memories—just as he would have wanted.
