Carlene Evelyn (Keaser) Hottinger, age 85, of Newark, died Friday, May 15, 2026, at the Selma Markowitz Care Center. She was born in Newark, Ohio on March 23, 1941, to the late Carl M, and Evelyn E. (Klockner) Keaser, Sr. Carlene was a member of the Church of God Licking County for 39 years. She retired from State Farm Insurance after 28 years of service. She was a graduate of the Ohio Bible College twice. Carlene loved reading, playing games, working puzzles, and being a greeter at church, which she did up to the week before she passed away. Carlene is survived by her son, Brian (Brian Henry) Hottinger; brother, Carl (Linda) Keaser, Jr.; sister-in-law, Pam Keaser; numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren; many special friends and her church family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years Jackie M. Hottinger; siblings, Judy (Phil) Smith, William Keaser, Charles Keaser, Paul Keaser, Betty Tice, and Mildred Juncau. Visitation will be held from 11a.m.-1p.m. Wednesday, May 20, 2026, with a 1p.m. funeral service at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N 21st, St. Newark, Ohio 43055. A graveside service at Cedar Hill Cemetery will take place immediately following the funeral with Pastor Brian Wilfong officiating.


