Carol Ann Gatten, 88 of Newark passed away on August 27, 2025 at her residence. She was born on November 24, 1936 in Newark, OH to the late Harold William and Alfretta (Ford) Gordon.

Carol graduated from Utica High School in 1954 and was a member of the Christian Apostolic Church. She was also a member of Department 56. She enjoyed traveling with husband.

She is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Arland E. Gatten; son, Kevin Gatten; daughter, Karen Channel; grandchildren, Brian Channel, Eric (Christina) Channel, Jeremy Gatten and Samantha (Andrew) Waites; great-grandchildren, Bailey Gatten, Brice Gatten, Ryleigh Waites, Dominic Channel and Alaina Channel; and sister-in-law, Janice Bartlett.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8pm on Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at Brucker-Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st St., Newark. Funeral service will be held at 11am on Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at Christian Apostolic Church, 22 N. 23rd St., Newark with Pastor Keith Sjostrand officiating. Burial will follow at Wilson Cemetery.
