Obituary

Carole “Diane” Koman, 85, of Newark, died Wednesday, April 8, 2026 at the Selma Markowitz Hospice Center. She was born September 25, 1940 in Newark to the late C. Del and Florence (Bonham) Blakeley.

Diane was a devoted and longtime member of First United Methodist Church, where her faith and fellowship were an important part of her life. She had a true gift for gardening and was especially well known for her beautiful, award-winning daylilies, which she lovingly tended and proudly shared with others.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, William Koman; son, Blair Koman; daughter, Tracey Koman; granddog, Gibbs; and sister-in-law, Georgeann Rose.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Blakeley.

Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Diane to the First United Methodist Church and/or the Metropolitan Columbus Daylily Society (MCDS).

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
