Carolyn Sue Stevens, 79, of Granville, died Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at Licking Memorial Hospital. She was born November 6, 1945 in Whitmer, WV to the late Frank and Josie (Elza) Long.

Carolyn had a gentle heart and a quiet joy for life's simple pleasures. A true animal lover, she especially adored her cats, who were never far from her side.

She enjoyed spending time with word search and picture search puzzles, always ready for a quiet challenge. In the evenings, you could find her watching some of her favorite shows—Bones, NCIS, and Family Feud—which brought her both comfort and entertainment.

She will be remembered for her kind spirit, her love for her furry companions, and the peace she found in the everyday moments.

Carolyn is survived by her husband of 58 years, Steve; son, Mike Stevens; two sisters, Alice (Butch) Roy and Shirley Bruno; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Long.

Visitation will be held Monday, July 21, 2025 from 11:00 am- 1:00 pm at the Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st St., Newark where the funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow the service at Newark Memorial Gardens.
