Charles "Chuck" Cecil Holloway passed away peacefully on July 15, 2025, at the age of 95. Born in Johnson City, IL to the late Clyde Holloway and Tressie (Minter) Holloway, Chuck was the firstborn of nine children. He is survived by his beloved siblings Nadine Basham and Rob Holloway, and was preceded in death by the other six siblings.

Chuck was also preceded in death by his devoted wife, Evonne (Adler) Holloway, who passed away in June 2020. They were married for 67 years—a partnership that stood as a quiet example of commitment and grace.

Chuck is survived by his children: Charlie Holloway, Marti Hyslip, Jim Holloway and his wife Cindy, and Karen Holloway. He had 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. His legacy lives on through their lives, stories, and memories.

He served his country for 26 years in the United States Air Force. Early in his career he discovered a personal passion for aviation, and learned to fly as a hobby. To support his love of flying, Chuck became licensed to work on aircraft and their engines. He would purchase planes that had been wrecked or in need of a major overhaul, restore them, and then fly them until he found his next airplane.

At 21 years of age Chuck became a Christian. His faith became the cornerstone of his life. He was deeply passionate about sharing the good news of salvation through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and he did so with sincerity and humility. During his overseas military assignments Chuck sought out Christian missionaries, offering them material support, enabling them to reach more people with the Gospel.

After retiring from military service Chuck continued to serve others using his mechanical skills. He founded the Golden Rule Lot, a humble operation dedicated to helping those in ministry. He purchased used vehicles, restored them to excellent condition, and sold them at cost—with no overhead—to missionaries and pastors. Most of the missionaries were on deputation, traveling across the country to raise awareness and financial support. Over the years, Chuck supplied more than 900 vehicles to missionaries.

Chuck later founded Golden Rule Ministry, a hands-on outreach that reflected his heart for service. Through this endeavor he annually led teams of volunteer mechanics to the Ethnos 360 missionary training school in Missouri, where they repaired and did routine maintenance on the vehicles of students and staff—free of charge. Donations from individuals, churches, and businesses covered the entire cost of parts and materials. He later expanded this ministry to include retired missionaries at the Ethnos 360 retirement compound in Florida, continuing to serve those who had dedicated their lives to the Gospel. Chuck led Golden Rule Ministries for 30 years, and the work continues to this day under the leadership of his son, Jim Holloway—a living legacy of faith, generosity, and service.

In his later years, Chuck faithfully attended The Granville Chapel alongside his son Charlie, worshiping with a loving church family.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 16, 2025 at 11:00 am at New Hope Lutheran Church, 309 W Broadway, Granville, OH. A reception will begin one hour prior to the service at 10:00 am in the church basement.
