Charles Christian "Chuck" Meyers, 96, of Newark, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, September 9, 2025. He was born on June 7, 1929, in Newark, to the late Charles and Beatrice (Riggleman) Meyers.
A proud veteran of the United States Army, Chuck honorably served his country during the Korean War. Following his service, he built a long and dedicated career at Holophane, where he worked for 42 years.
Faith and fellowship were important to Chuck. He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, a life member of VFW Post 1060, and a devoted Mason with Crusader Lodge 720, York Rite, and Scottish Rite.
Chuck's life was rich with hobbies and friendships. He was an avid bowler, enjoyed fishing, and cherished the winters he and his beloved wife spent together in Sebring, Florida. Above all, he treasured time with his family, who brought him great joy.
He is survived by his loving wife of 75 years, Lois Ann Meyers; his son, Charles D. Meyers; his daughter, Pamela Ann Deal (Timothy Allen); grandchildren, Traig (Kelly) Deal and Addison Deal; and great-grandchildren, Briley, AnnDee, and Jameson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert Meyers and Clyde Fox, and his sister, Sandra Moore.
Memorial contributions may be made in Chuck's memory to Hospice of Central Ohio.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 14, 2025, from 2–4 p.m. at the Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st St., Newark, where a Masonic service will be held at 3:45 p.m. The funeral service will take place on Monday, September 15, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Father Mike Gentry officiating. Burial will follow at Wilson Cemetery, where military honors will be presented by the Licking County Veterans Alliance.
