Obituary

Charles "Chuck" E. Holman, Jr., 81, of Newark passed away on March 31, 2024 at Arlington Care Center. He was born on January 13, 1943 in Newark to the late Charles E. and Eva Burdell (Burrell) Holman, Sr.

Chuck was a member of the Heath Church of Christ. He was a 1962 graduate of Newark High School. He retired from Owens Corning as a Maintenance Supervisor for 37 years. He was an Eagle Scout and a member of the N.W.T.F. He was also a member of the Hebron Lodge #116 F&A.M., Wroena Chapter 597 O.E.S, Teheran Grotto, Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels, Aladdin Shrine, Scottish Rite Valley of Columbus and past councilman for the City of Newark 4th Ward.

Chuck loved to travel and spend time on his tree farm, especially working with his purple martin colony, blue bird trails and other wild bird activities. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Kathaleen "Kathy" (Krebs) Holman; children, Cheryl Holman, Beth (Pat) Cooperrider and Scott (Kristi) Holman; grandchildren, Lindsay (Jonah) Cunningham, Tanner (Lexy) Cooperrider, Sadie and Kylie Holman; brother, Rod (JoAnn) Holman; sister-in-law, Susan Holman; brothers-in-law, Delmar Krebs and Weldon Krebs; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Ed Holman, sisters-in-law, Dorothy Krebs and Connie Krebs.

The family will receive friends from 1-3 and 5-7pm on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at Brucker-Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st St., Newark. A Masonic service and Eastern Star service will begin at 7pm.

Funeral service will be held at 11am on Friday, April 5, 2024 at Heath Church of Christ, 1331 Chapel Way, Heath with Pastors Dave Mason and David Linn officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Chuck's name to The Gary Finnicum N.W.T.F. Wheelin' Handicapped Turkey Hunt and can be sent to Betty Fisher, Treasurer, 7245 West Pike, Zanesville, OH 43701.
