Charles Edward Emory, Sr., age 87, of New Lexington, Ohio, passed away Monday, November 24, 2025, at the Selma Markowitz Care Center. He was born in Maloneton, KY on July 26, 1938, to the late Byron and Bertie (Riley) Emory.

Charles was a member of the New Lexington Baptist Church, and he loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, as well as his wife and family. He was a lineman for Licking Rural Electric for 38 years before retiring. While working as a lineman, he became a mentor to several new linemen that he trained. Charles enjoyed gold prospecting, fishing, hunting, singing, watching westerns, and Buckeye football.

He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Barbara Sue (Quinan) Emory; children, Charles E. (Christine) Emory, Jr., Raymond Emory, and Jon (Tina) Emory; grandchildren, Ashley (Michael) Hicks, Charles Emory III, Calvin Emory, Chelsey (David) Powers, Micki Emory, Jeremiah Emory, Gabe Emory and Nathaniel Emory, Caleb (Brook), and Josuha (Isabella) Emory; great-grandchildren, Josiah, Faith, and Samual Hicks, Natasha Powers, Brian and Xander Offenburger, Jordan Osborn, Emily, Adin, Aizen Emory.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 4 sisters.

Visitation will be held from 4-6 pm Sunday, November 31, and 10-11 am Monday, December 1, 2025, at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N 21st, St. Newark, Ohio 34055. An 11 am funeral will take place Monday after visitation, followed immediately by a graveside service at Newark Memorial Gardens, Pastor Jon Emory officiating.
