Charles Lowell VanArsdale Sr., age 83, of Dresden, passed away on March 3, 2026, at OSU Medical Center. Charles was born in Columbus on September 8, 1942, to the late Lowell Henry and Floretta (Boggs) VanArsdale.

He enjoyed spending his free time golfing, bowling, and line dancing, activities that brought him great joy and many lasting friendships. He was a proud member of Moose Lodge #499 and valued the camaraderie and community it provided. Above all, he will be remembered as a caring husband, a wonderful father, and a loving grandfather whose kindness and devotion to his family will never be forgotten.

He is survived by his loving wife, Phyllis; daughters, Balinda Hottinger, Vickie Dilo, Jeanie McPeck, Rhonda (Randy Williams) VanArsdale; 14 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; 9 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Helen (Richard) Kirkendall, Colleen Kirkpatrick; brother, David (Marylin) VanArsdale; son-in-law, Jeff Richards.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his, son, Charles L. VanArsdale Jr., daughters, Tammy L. Richards, Debbie Asselin; granddaughters, Stacy Hottinger and Rachel Meade; great grandson, Kevin Wells; sons-in-law, Fred Dilo, Roger Hottinger Sr., Joseph Asselin; sisters, Judy Tucker and Barbara Gaa, Patricia VanArsdale.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, from 1-3 and 6-8 pm at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home. His services will be held on Thursday, March 12, at 11 am with Pastor John Schouten officiating. Burial will take place at Newark Memorial Gardens.
