Charlotte "Char" Lourie Kyle, 87, of Newark, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at Flint Ridge Nursing and Rehab Center. She was born April 28, 1938, in Robins, Ohio, to the late Joseph and Isabelle (Zwoll) Treherne.

Char retired from the Newark Air Force Base after 25 years of dedicated service. A creative spirit, she enjoyed crafting, reading—especially her beloved Danielle Steel novels—and never turned down the excitement of a trip to the casino. She also had a passion for collecting movie memorabilia and took great joy in spending quiet moments working through her word-find books.

She leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory: her daughter, Debra Johnson (Bruce) Parrish; her son, Kenneth (Melissa) Johnson; grandchildren, Jeremy Parrish, Joshua (Ashley) Parrish, Sarah (Brice) Berg, and Brian (Ashley) Kanoski; and great-grandchildren, Michaele, Milo, and Madelyn Kanoski, Landon Berg, and Wyatt and Wesson Parrish. She also leaves behind her beloved cat, Mrs. Cuddles, and many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

In addition to her parents, Char was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Kyle; sisters Marjorie Treherne Cain, Dorothy Treherne Chalfant, Margaret Treherne Renner, and Grace Treherne Oliver; and brothers Raymond Treherne and Joseph Treherne Jr.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2025, from 2–4 p.m. at Brucker & Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st Street, Newark. A private burial will follow at Lutheran Cemetery, where Char will be laid to rest beside her husband, Clyde.
