Chase Vincent Delancey, 22, of LaMesa, CA and formerly of Newark, OH, tragically passed away as a result from a motorcycle accident on Tuesday, August 25, 2026. He was born January 7, 2004 in Newark to Jackie L. Baker and Chadwick G. Delancey Sr.

Chase graduated from Newark High School class of 2022. He then joined the Marines two weeks after graduating from NHS.

There are no words that can truly express the pain of losing someone so young, so full of life, and so deeply loved. Chase leaves behind memories that will forever be carried in the hearts of everyone who knew and loved him.Our hearts are especially broken for his parents and his brother and sister, who are facing an unimaginable loss. No parent should ever have to say goodbye to their child, and no sibling should have to learn to live without their brother. 

Please keep Chase's parents and siblings in your thoughts and prayers as they navigate the days ahead.Chase's life may have been far too short, but the love he gave and the memories he created will never be forgotten. May the love of family and friends surround his parents and siblings and give them strength during this devastating time.

He is survived by his sister, Taylor Baker; brother, Chadwick Delancey II; mother, Jackie Baker; father, Chadwick Delancey Sr.; paternal grandmother, Christina Hammond (Tony) Miracle; maternal grandparents, Jerry and Sally Baker; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by paternal grandfather, Paul “Paul Paul” Delancey.

A celebration of life will be announced in the coming days.
