Chester Leroy Gause, 73 of St. Louisville passed away on July 19, 2025 at his residence. He was born on October 25, 1951 in Coldwater, OH to the late Chester Dewitt and Maxine Elizabeth (Fisher) Gause.

Leroy served honorably in the U.S. Army in the 82nd Airborne. He retired from Owens Corning as a pipefitter. He loved hunting, fishing, camping and boating trips. He also enjoyed collecting antiques and finding a deal at auctions. Most of all he loved attending his children and grandchildren's events.

He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Connie Sue (Shepard) Gause; children, Christopher (Rebecca) Gause, Leta (Nicholas) Meyer and Craig (Laci) Gause; grandchildren, Grady, Adrienne, Griffin and Tessa Meyer, Gabriella Gause, Grayson and Eloise Gause; siblings, Gloria (Larry) Longfellow, Robert (Angie) Schellenbarg, Donald (Tina) Gause, Julie Neldon and Rose (Clifford) Mason; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Clarence Schellenbarg.

The family will receive friends from 11-1pm on Friday, July 25, 2025 at Brucker-Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st St., Newark. The funeral service will be held at 1pm. Burial will follow at Eden Cemetery.
