Christian "Bubba" James Reed, 23, of Newark, earned his wings on December 20, 2023 at Nationwide Children's Hospital. He was born May 18, 2000 to Diana (Howard) Reed and Raymond Keith Reed.

Christian was the light of his family's lives. He was so full of life, always smiling and happy. He had a way to brighten the mood of whoever he met and never met a stranger. His enjoyment was going for car rides with his aunt Pork and uncle Bo. Christian loved to eat, especially chips and cheeseburgers from McDonalds with his special buddy, "Peanut Butter".

He is survived by his sister, Shirley (Bree) Reed. Shirley was Christian's hero who stepped up to care for Christian when his mom passed away. He was 24/7 care and Shirley was Christian's "Nirely" that is what he called her and Christian was Shirley's everything. Also survived by his father, Raymond Keith Reed; sisters, Sarah Reed, Ashley Reed, Latasha McElroy, and Ayreona; brothers, Jeremy Reed and Joshua; special aunt, Debra "Pork" Howard; aunts, Sharry (Joe) Baker, Brittany (William) Athey, and Katrina Frisbie; uncles, Raymond (Samantha) Howard and James (Susan) Howard; great aunt, Elma Offenburger; grandmother "Mamaw", Dawn Stephens; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Diana (Howard) Reed; Papal, Miles "Mouse" Howard; MawMaw, Helen Howard; aunt, Darlene Shell; and grandma, Shirley (Shell) Howard.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 27, 2023, from 4-6 pm at the Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st St., Newark, where the funeral service will follow at 6:00 pm with Bishop T.L. Kirk officiating.
