Christopher B. Nutter was born August 30, 1948 in New York. His family moved to Newark, Ohio in 1955.

He graduated from St. Francis Elementary School then Newark Catholic High School in 1966. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in History from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio in 1970.

He spent his work life in sales and often spoke of how he enjoyed the client interaction and strategizing the way to yes.

He was an avid reader and collector of books, a critical thinker and a natural historian his entire life.

His passion was professional football and he could recall detailed specifics about games and players all the way back to the 1960's with perfect accuracy to the very end of his life.

He was respected for his intellect, astuteness and sense of fair play.

He was preceded in death by his father, Carl B. Nutter; mother, Lorraine Nutter; and sisters, Joy Weller and Lauren Nutter.

He is survived by his sister, Holly Kropf of Bloomington, IL; and nephews, John Kropf of Chicago, IL and Gregory Weller of Charlo, Montana.

He was a truly unique man who will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 26, 2025 from 1:00 pm- 2:00 pm at the Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st St., Newark where the funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow the service at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
