Clara “Tina” (Taylor) Cowles

A funeral service for Clara “Tina” (Taylor) Cowles, 87, of Newark, OH, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, with minister Terry McKittrick officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Family will receive friends an hour prior to the service on Tuesday, at the funeral home, 985 N. 21st St. Newark, OH. 

Tina passed away June 11, 2026, at her residence. She was born May 28, 1939, in Newark, OH, to the late Delmar and Alice (Brookover) Taylor.

Tina was a 1957 graduate of Newark High School. She retired from Ohio Power and Kaiser Aluminum after many years of dedicated service. She and her husband owned and operated Playmate School and Child Care Center, which opened on March 3, 1969. She found great joy in cooking and baking for family and friends, and she never missed the opportunity to relax with her favorite Hallmark movies. Tina also had a special admiration for the iconic Budweiser Clydesdale horses. Affectionately known as "Momma T." and "Tiny Tina," she was loved by many for her warm heart, caring nature, and the happiness she brought to those around her. 

She is survived by her daughter, Tammy Cowles. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Tom M. Cowles. 

The family extends their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to Lisa Dennison and Hospice of Central Ohio for the compassionate care, support, and kindness shown to Tina throughout her journey.
