Clare Ann Getten, 92, originally of Newark, passed away Friday, October 23, 2026 in Zanesville, Ohio. She was born April 11, 1934 to the late Michael and Margaret (Denelsbeck) Bringardner in Newark, Ohio.

Clare attended Newark High School. She later worked as a cake decorator for Riley’s Bakery and then at Big Bear.

Clare enjoyed bowling in her younger years. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles, playing the piano, watching movies and of course, OSU football.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Gatten; four siblings, Joan Pound, Claudia Worley, Richard Bringardner and Kathy Abrams; grandson, Brian Wolfe; and son-in-law, Jeffrey Wolfe.

Clare is survived by her three children, Cheryl Wolfe, Mark (Marla) Kincaid and Denise (Robert) Hulett; grandchildren, Adrienne Lanning, Raine McCoy, Matthew (April) Kincaid, Heather (Keith) Hiszem and Michael Kincaid; 11 great grandchildren; and one great- great granddaughter.
