Claudette Marie (Gutridge) McMillen, age 87, of Newark, passed away Friday, February 23, 2024, at Laurels of Heath. She was born in Newark on February 24, 1937, to the late Clifford R. and Gladys M. (Henderson) Gutridge.

Claudette was a 1955 graduate of Newark High School. She retired from Rockwell, and was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her sisters, Virginia (Bill) Young and Charlotte Pettit; nieces and nephews, Dawn Pettit, James (Deborah) Reid, Robert (Christopher Stenger) Pettit, Ali (Spencer) Smith, Tom (Sandy) Hannah, Larry Taylor, Gary Taylor, Paul Butch Hannah; several great nieces and nephews, and the members of the Levi family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, Ervin Peter McMillen; baby sister; brother-in-law, Robert Pettit; companion Arthur Levi.

A 1pm funeral service will be held Friday, March 1, 2024, at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st St. Newark, Ohio 43055. Family will receive friends from 12-1pm one hour prior to the service. A graveside service at Poplar Forks Cemetery will take place immediately after the funeral service, Pastor Casey Wilson officiating.
