Cody James Hoberg, age 19, of Newark, passed away following a tragic accident at his home Sunday, June 16, 2024. He was born in Newark on January 12, 2005, to James "Jimmy" and Paula "Shelly" (Rine) Hoberg.

Cody's death leaves a void in the hearts and lives of his family, the community , and the racing community. Cody was known for his natural racing talent, competitive spirit, sportsmanship, and kind-heartedness.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by the love of his life, Brooke-Lynn Smith; brothers; Ryan and Jim (Trent) Hoberg; grandparents, Mike (Pauline) Rine; aunt Patty Sue (Dave) Hineman; uncle Mike Rine; second family, Nana and Pap, as well as the rest of the Smith family; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and his race family; best friend Matt Smith, special friends, the Stillwell family, and his fur buddy, Remi.

Cody was preceded in death by his grandparents, Patty (Lunda) Hoberg; great-grandmother, Hattie Moran; uncle, Lee Hoberg.

Visitation will be held from 2-4pm and 6-8pm Friday, June 21, 2024, and Saturday, June 22, 2024, from 11am-12pm at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N 21st, St. Newark, Ohio 43055. A 12pm funeral service will take place Saturday at the conclusion of visitation followed immediately by a graveside service at the Lutheran Cemetery, 5959 Linnville Rd SE. Newark, Ohio 43056, Pastor Steve Dunn officiating.
