Colson Daniel Abernathy, 8 months, passed away on July 29, 2025. Colson was born in Newark, on November 15, 2024, to Michael Abernathy and Melissa Mallasee.

He was a happy boy who loved smiling, swimming and pulling hair.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his siblings, Christopher, Aurora, Mikey, Hayden, Mia, Hazel and Ivy; aunts and uncles, April Elliott, Danielle (Dustin Cunningham) Mallasee, Marshall Mallasee, Matthew Mallasee, Chris Frank, Cory (Bri) Williams; grandparents, Kim Backus, Debbie (Patrick) Cosgrove; and many cousins.

He is preceded in death by his grandpa's, Brett Mallasee, Timothy Abernathy; great grandma, Elsie Backus.

The family will receive friends on August 6, 2025, 11 AM - 12 PM, at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, where his service will immediately follow with Family Friend Jason Rice officiating. Burial will take place in Jacksontown Cemetery.
