On October 18, 2025, we lost a beautiful soul Craig Foster to a hideous disease called ALS. It robbed him of his ability to walk, talk and breathe. This disease was first described in 1869. It needs to stop.

Craig was the kind of person who would help anyone. He always visited friends who were housebound. His joy was to do kind things for others and his generosity had no limits.

He attended The Ohio State University. He worked in the Laborer's and Operators Unions for the Shelly Company for 35 years.

Craig married his wife Kim in 2006. Together they loved 3 children, Jen (Cory) Lauer of Bonita Springs, Florida, Shane (Leslie) Thoman of Nashport and Annie (Sean Meadows) More of Norwalk. They had 8 grandchildren, Hunter, Ivy, Niah, Aubrey, Jude, Blaze, Teagan and Sonny. They also had 6 bonus grandchildren, Colton, Kasen, Koen, Knox, Cecelia and Isaiah.

Craig loved Ohio State and the Columbus Blue Jackets where he was a day 1 season ticket holder. Kim continues that tradition sharing his love of hockey with the grandkids. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. He and Kim would pack the tent and head to the woods whenever possible.

Craig is survived by 2 brothers, Brad of Orlando, Florida and Rod (Laura) of Somerset; sister-in-law, Lorie (Joe) Six and brothers-in-law, Joe Schirtzinger and Brian Nicolia. He is also survived by his in-laws Sharon (K.C.) Nicolia and Sam (Nannette) Schirtzinger.

He is preceded in death by his parents Bob and Yetta Foster and nephew Curt Foster.

The family would also like to acknowledge the beauty from the ashes. First and foremost Susan who locked up her home in Florida and moved in to help care for Craig so he could remain at home. We'd also like to thank Pam and Mike, Nell, Linda, Paul and Jim, Mike D., Rob, Gary and Betty, Chris D., Randy and Clara, Janet and Cynthia. He also loved his regular nurses, Valerie, Stormi and Alex who he really liked as well. Thank you to Craig's regular caregivers Lorie, Clara and Alissa. Thank you also to everyone who sent cards, food and well wishes.

We also need to acknowledge the amazing people at Hospice of Central Ohio. Dr. Elyse Everett, there's a special place in heaven for you. We'd also like to thank Megan who Craig adored. Thanks to our volunteer Kim. Craig will greet you all in heaven someday.

The family will receive friends on Monday, October 27, 2025, from 4:30 - 6:30 PM at the Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home where the Thornville AmVets will perform honors at 6:30 PM, and his service will immediately follow.
