Darrel Eugene Riley, 95 of Newark passed away on September 13, 2026 at SharonBrooke Assisted Living. He was born on September 27, 1930 in Iowa Falls, Iowa to the late Floyd and Bertha (Hiserodt) Riley.

Darrel proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was the owner of Roto-Rooter of Licking County, where he built a reputation for his strong work ethic and willingness to help others.

Darrel was truly a jack of all trades. He enjoyed building things, woodworking, and using his skills to create and repair just about anything.

Above all, he cherished his family, especially his grandchildren, who brought him great joy. He was also an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan.

He is survived by his children, Steven Riley, Susan (Steven Weekley) Sayre, David (Rhonda) Riley, Angela (Tom Starr) Riley and Karen (Zane Chandler) Riley; 12 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; brother, Don (Vi) Riley; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Martha Lucille Riley; daughter-in-law, Heather Riley; and brother, Dale Riley.

Memorial service will be held at Brucker-Kishler Funeral on a date to be determined.
