A funeral service will be held for Darrell "Bill" W. Riffle, 92, of Newark, Ohio, at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Jacksontown Cemetery, with military honors. Family will receive friends, from 4-7 p.m., Friday, February 14, 2025, at the funeral home, at 985 North 21st Street, Newark, Ohio.

Bill passed away on February 5, 2025, at home. He was born on January 18, 1933, in Newark, Ohio, to Ama Leone (Greene) Riffle and Howard Stout Riffle. Bill lived his life for our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. As a member of Newark First Church of the Nazarene, he was a church board member, Sunday School Superintendent, choir and special music singer, van driver, softball league player, usher, greeter, bereavement dinner volunteer and, "the candy man." Bill's favorite pastimes were motorcycling, vacationing at Myrtle Beach, morel mushroom hunting, tending his large garden, and working on cars, with his grandson.

Bill is survived by his beloved wife, of 67 years, Marilyn (Elmore) Riffle; daughters, Judith (Jeffrey) Rings, Leilana (William) Hofacker; cherished grandchildren, Holly (Robert) Fisher, Melody (Samuel) Cox, Laurel (Troy) Miller, Evan (Lauren Koenig) Rings; great-grandchildren, Charlotte, Isaac, Adeline, Amelia, Maisie, Emmalynn; sister, Doris Remmenga; sister-in-law, Delores Elmore; 20 nephews and nieces; special friends, Jeff (Linda) Poling.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, and their spouses: Donald (Sara) Riffle, Dorothy (George) Hartman, Denver (Vivian) Riffle; nieces, Susan Riffle, Jana (Remmenga) Wilson, Kimberly (Engel) Riffle; father- and mother-in-law, 13 brothers- and sisters-in-laws, 13 nephews and nieces, of his precious Iowa family.

Bill graduated from Granville High School, where he played football, basketball, and baseball. He caddied for Granville Golf Course, worked for Newark Railroad, and Kaiser Aluminum, before enlisting in the United States Navy, aboard the U. S. Roanoke CL-145, as a licensed stationary steam engineer. Bill married his sweetheart, Marilyn, during Christmas break on December 21, 1957, prior to graduation from Palmer College of Chiropractic, Davenport, Iowa. In Ohio, he worked at Davies Dairy, Byerlite, Western Electric, Denison University, retiring from Kaiser Aluminum, in 1998, after 25 years of service. Bill showed compassion, caring for his chiropractic patients, for 50 years.
