Darrell Lee Ruble, age 80, passed peacefully on Monday, September 2, 2024, surrounded by his wife, sister, daughters and son-in-law.
Born and raised in Decatur Illinois, Darrell was a man of many talents and passions. Along with his brothers, he formed the Ruble Brothers Band, a local band that brought joy and entertainment to countless people over the years. Their music was a staple at community events, weddings, and gatherings, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the pleasure of hearing them perform.
In addition to his musical talents, Darrell held a commercial pilot's license, a testament to his love of flight and his adventurous spirit. His career took him to the Newark Air Force Base and eventually Rockwell, where he worked for 30 years before retiring.
Darrell and Margaret's love story began at the age of 18 in Bellflower, California. Their families moved to Ohio in 1963. They married in 1965, started their own family and built a life filled with love and lasting memories. They were married for 59 wonderful years, sharing a journey that few are fortunate enough to experience. Darrell had a warm heart and an unwavering commitment and love for his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend who touched the lives of all who knew him. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him and in the community he entertained.
Darrell leaves behind his wife, Margaret Ruble; daughters, Lisa (Eric) Peck, Michelle Dalanno; grandchildren, Matthew (Hannah) Dalanno, Maria Dalanno; siblings, Diana Campbell, Rodney Ruble, Steve (Connie) Ruble, Howard (Heidi) Ruble; sister-in-law, Martha (Don) Debevoise; many nieces, nephews, dear friends, and his dog buddy, Pongo.
Preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Delores (Jordan) Ruble; brother, Terry Ruble; son-in-law, Craig Dalanno; granddaughter, Sophia Dalanno; and brother-in-law, Paul Campbell.
Please join us Tuesday, September 10, 2024 from 4 - 7 PM at Brucker & Kishler Funeral Home, 985 North 21st Street, Newark, Ohio 43055, where service's will immediately follow at 7 PM with Pastor Zoe Hafner officiating.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Heart Association.
