David Donald Bell, age 79, of Newark, passed away on December 28, 2023, at Sharon Brooke Assisted Living. David was born on April 18, 1944, to the late Fredrick Charles and Lucille (Tabler) Bell, in Newark, Ohio.

After graduating in 1962 from Newark High School, David's first job was working at Scioto Packing in Newark. On May 23, 1966, David joined the Marine Corps, because of the crisis in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged on May 22, 1968. He went on to work at Rockwell International from 1965 until 1977, and Ward Hydraulic for a short time in 1978. David then worked for his dad at Bell Brothers Trucking, hauling livestock until 1984. After working for his dad, he went to work as a Supervisor for the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections from 1986 until his retirement in 2010. David was a member of the Newark Elks Lodge #391, American Legion Post 85, and a member of the Licking County Humane Society. He was a proud supporter of America's Veterans and was honored to attend the Honor Flight. David was an incredible husband, father and grandfather, he will be missed by all who knew him. He loved spending time with his family, pets, and was a true Marine, Semper Fi.

David is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Deborah K. (George) Bell; children, Nicholas Bell, Erin (Nicholas) Frost; grandchildren, Maxwell, Myles and Campbell Frost; brother-in-law, Gilbert Springer; sisters-in-law, Sandy Crew, Connie Gray, Jane Harris.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Charlene Springer; brothers-in-law, Ron Crew and Charlie Gray.
