Obituary

David L. Bush, age 74, of Newark, earned his eternal reward peacefully, surrounded by his family, Monday, September 15, 2025. He was born in Newark on October 27, 1950, to the late James D. and Helen O. (Varasso) Bush.

David owned and ran Dave Bush Construction for 25 years and retired from Kaiser Aluminum after 37 years of service. He also served as caretaker at The Church of God at God's Acres. Dave worked innumerable hours in service of the Lord and loved serving others. He loved deer hunting, boating, vintage cars, teaching his children and grandchildren all of his many trades, his Harley Davidson, and talking about "American Made!"

Beyond that he loved the Lord with all his heart. Dave was a member of The Church of God at God's Acres for over 52 years. His greatest joys were his family, Sunday dinners, birthday parties, family camping trips, and church camp meetings.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Ruby (Hupp) Bush; children, Shawn (Taty) Bush, Rob (Rachel) Bush, Rodney (Josie) Bush, Amanda (Chuck) Diehl, Larissa (Chris) Young, Laura (T.J.) Foster; 25 grandchildren, with 2 more on the way, and one great granddaughter; siblings, Virginia Johns, Ruth (Jim) Wells, Carol (Larry) Masters, and Mark (Brenda) Bush; many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

He will be truly missed by many who loved him dearly, but this world was not his home.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his children, Scott D. Bush and Amy A. Finck; brother, James A. Bush.

An extra special thanks to our pastor, Brother Roger Decker and the congregation at God's Acres for all of their love and support.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm Friday, September 19, 2025, at God's Acres, 675 N Cedar St, Newark, Ohio 43055. A 1 pm funeral service will take place at the church on Saturday, September 20, 2025, Pastor Roger Decker officiating. There will be a 10 am graveside service at Cedar Hill Cemetery Monday, September 22, 2025.
