David Paul Lantz, 86, of Newark, passed away Friday, May 22, 2026, at home surrounded by loved ones. He was born in Worcester, Massachusetts on October 22, 1939, to the late Paul and Ethel (Stohlburg) Lantz. He graduated from Holden High School in Holden, Massachusetts in 1958 and continued his education at West Virginia Wesleyan College graduating in 1962 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a minor in religion.

Dave took pride in being self-employed with Lantz Enterprises and Grandwood Supply Company. His sales allowed him to travel across the country. He also worked at TCI Tire Centers in Heath and enjoyed being a courier for Park National Bank prior to retirement.

Throughout his life, Dave was involved and belonged to several computer clubs, pond clubs and Ducks Unlimited. He also served as a Board President at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Jersey, Ohio.

Dave enjoyed researching genealogy, tending to his pond, and was an avid reader. Above all else, his greatest joy in life was his beautiful wife and the family they created including their wonderful sons and dear grandchildren.

Dave will be remembered for his love of learning, great conversation with others and truly a great laugh that made everyone smile. He cherished time spent with loved ones and thoroughly enjoyed a memorable trip of a lifetime to Nova Scotia with his soulmate, Susan.

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Susan D. (Dobbelaar) Lantz; children, David James (Kathy) Lantz, Steven E. (Holly) Lantz, and Andrew W. (Gina) Lantz; grandchildren, Brittany Anderson, Rachel Lantz, Morgan Lantz, Ethan Lantz, Emerson Lantz and nephew, Brian Lantz.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Lantz.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
