David (Dave)Eugene Moore, age 88, of Newark, passed away Sunday, May 11, 2025, at The Courtyard at Newark. He was born in Roanoke, Virginia on July 15, 1936, to the late Sara Kate (Moore) Munn.

Although Dave was born in Roanoke, he claimed Clincho, Virginia as his home town. Dave moved to Newark in the early 50s and immediately fell in love with the city and its courthouse. He developed a love for music at an early age as he helped musicians move and set up equipment at the Crystal BallRoom in Buckeye lake. After leaving the Roper Company, Dave gained employment at Owens Corning where he retired several years later. He was a well dressed man who loved his dogs, especially Lacey. He enjoyed listening to Bluegrass music, going camping, and rooting for The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cleveland Indians.

Dave is survived by his wife of 64 years, Peggy (Packham) Moore; children Amy (J.B.) Hayes and David (Nikki Blanton) Moore; grandchildren, Griffen, Sidney, and Grady Moore; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his sister, Deana Lyons.

Visitation will take place from 4-7 pm Thursday, May 15, 2025, at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, 985 North 21st, St. Newark, Ohio 43055, and 10-11 am Friday, May 16, at Newark Faith Church, 261 E Main St, Newark, Ohio 43055. An 11 am funeral service will take place at the church followed immediately by a graveside service at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Pastor Haley Akers officiating.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Dave's memory may be made to the Licking County Humane Society, 825 Thornwood Dr SW, Heath, Ohio.
