David Shamell, 77, of Heath, passed away, Saturday, December 21, 2024 at the Selma Markowitz Hospice Center. He was born November 10, 1947 in Newark to the late Isaac Thomas and Mary Ruth (Beall) Shamell.

Dave worked as an auto mechanic for nearly 50 years. He worked 7 days a week and never took a day off. He was an encyclopedia of knowledge for auto parts and could fix anything. Many people in the field would use Dave as a resource for help or advice and he was always willing to help them.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Linda (Schooler) Shamell; son, Dave R. Shamell (former partner, Allison Radliff); grandchildren, Hudson R. Shamell and Keeley C. Shamell; sister, Kathleen Shamell; brother, Paul (Angela) Shamell; niece, Olivia Shamell; and Ervin and John who looked up to Dave as a father figure.

Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Dave to Hospice of Central Ohio.

A memorial visitation will held Tuesday, January 7, 2025 from 2-5 pm at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st St., Newark where military honors will be presented at 5:00 pm by the Licking County Veterans Alliance.

A celebration of life will be held immediately after visitation Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at the Heath Eagles, 1007 Hollander St., Newark, OH beginning at 5:30 pm. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Eddy Guy for coordinating the celebration of life at the Eagles.
