Dennis R. Carter

Dennis Carter, age 71, of Newark, passed away at Licking Memorial Hospital on April 3, 2026. Dennis was born on February 5, 1955, in Middletown, Ohio to the late Rev. Robert and Charlene (Penn) Carter.

He found great joy in music, spending countless hours singing and playing the guitar and piano, especially in service to his church. Denny loved listening to The Beatles and gospel music, which brought him comfort and inspiration throughout his life. Known for his sense of humor, he was always quick with a joke and had a remarkable ability to make others smile. Above all, Denny was a caring, loving, and devoted husband, father, and grandfather who cherished his family deeply and will be remembered for the warmth and joy he brought into the lives of those around him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Theresa Carter; children, Emily (Jason) Garner, Elizabeth (Jason) Parker; grandchildren, Brielle and Brynlee; many other family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by sister, Cathi Hazlett; brothers, Bruce Carter and Mike Carter; his special canine companion, Chloe; and many other family and friends.

There will be a Celebration of Life held on April 10, 2026, at 1 pm at The Lighthouse On Maple, 552 Maple Ave, Newark, Ohio 43055.
