Devin Andrew (Parriott) Jackson, age 29, passed away at his home Friday, July 3, 2026. He was born in Newark on June 27, 1997.

Devin attended Newark City Schools, was a member of Boy Scouts and a member of Venturing Scouts where he explored the career of law enforcement and participated in ride-alongs with Granville Police Dept.

Devin has a deep love for animals, always offering to help his family with their dogs including grooming. He appreciated and respected formal dog training both obedience and K9. Devin loved helping family friends out on the farm with the horses, goats, and other animals. He loved nature, hiking, kayaking, caving, and exploring abandoned places just to name a few.

Devin knew no stranger. He embodied a charismatic spirit with a vast amount of knowledge of many different subjects which gave him an avenue to connect with everyone he met. He enjoyed meteorology and was able to provide warnings for any severe weather in the area - even before the weather service would sound their alarms.

Devin enjoyed his adrenaline-pumping jobs. He was currently employed by a local company climbing cell phone towers to change light bulbs - even a 500 ft tower wasn't too tall for him to climb. This job also took Devin working out of state where he felt he could travel and see new places collecting the state's magnets to remember his journeys. Devin had past amazing jobs that included working in security for nationwide companies, as a train conductor, a crane inspector, and building and maintaining cell phone towers.

Devin is survived by his adoptive parents, Brent and Shelly Jackson; birth mom Rhonda Dostroph; fiance Abigail Jones; and several loving family members and friends he considered family. He will be deeply missed.

A Celebration of Life service will take place from 5pm-7pm Thursday, July 16, 2026, at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N 21st. St, Newark, Ohio 43055.
