Donald Chester Flowers, 67, of Hanover, died Saturday, January 3, 2026 at Licking Memorial Hospital. He was born May 29, 1958 in Newark to the late Chester and Edith May (Wright) Flowers.

Don loved the outdoors, whether hunting for arrowhead artifacts, admiring the scenery, hunting, or running his brush hog. He enjoyed listening to music, cheering on the Buckeyes, and was a faithful supporter of Licking Valley High School athletics. He cherished family trips to Palm Coast, Florida, where many special memories were made. A quiet man with a warm presence, Don could strike up a conversation with anyone and truly never met a stranger.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Beth; sons, Michael (Macy) Flowers and Mitchell Flowers; granddaughter, Mia; sister, Darla Cozzens; brothers, Duane (Marty), Dwight and Dean Flowers; several nieces and nephews; mother-in-law, Naomi Muir; and brothers-in-law, Jim (Melva) Muir and Steve (Kris) Muir

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by father-in-law, Willis Muir; brother-in-law, Roger Cozzens; and sister-in-law, Glenda Flowers.

Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Don to Licking Valley Athletic Boosters.

Visitation will be held Thursday, January 8, 2026 from 4-8 pm at the Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st St., Newark. The funeral service will be Friday, January 9, 2026 at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Pastor Chuck Horsley officiating. Burial will follow the service at Hanover Cemetery.
