Donald E. Hone, Sr., 88 of Newark passed away on December 14, 2025 at Licking Memorial Hospital. He was born on June 26, 1937 in Newark, OH to the late Isaac Newton and Gladys (Friener) Hone.

Don enjoyed softball and coon hunting.

He is survived by his children, Brenda Styers, Donald E. (Tammy) Hone, Jr. and Richard L. (Susan) Hone; 6 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by Norma Jean Hone; and sisters and brother.

The family will receive friends from 12-1pm on Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at Brucker-Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st St., Newark. The funeral service will be held at 1pm. Burial will follow at Barnes Cemetery.
