Donna S. Renicker
A funeral service for Donna S. Renicker, 84, of Newark, OH, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, with Pastor Cory Campbell officiating. Family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 5, 2026, at the funeral home, 985 N. 21st St. Newark, and one hour prior to the service on Friday.
Donna passed March 2, 2026, at the Selma Markowitz Hospice Care Center. She was born September 25, 1941, in Hanover, OH, to the late Lloyd and Ruth (Burrier) Flowers.
Donna will be remembered for her warm heart, strong spirit, and deep love for her family and community. She proudly served as a bus driver for the Licking Valley School System, where she truly loved her job and the children she transported each day. Dedicated to her community, Donna also served as a member of the Village of Hanover Council. Donna found joy in life's simple pleasures. She enjoyed visits to her favorite restaurants — Wendy's, Olive Garden, and Bob Evans. She cherished quiet moments sitting on her front porch, often watching for her beloved cardinals. She treasured card nights with her sisters, taking turns hosting at each other's homes and sharing laughter around the table. A devoted fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes, Donna proudly cheered them on every season. Above all else, Donna's greatest joy was her grandchildren. She loved them beyond measure, and they were the light of her life.
She is survived by her daughter, Laura Sue Hilleary; grandchildren, Tracy (Nick) Kaczan, Karli (Taylor) Thompson, and James (Alyssa) Hilleary; great-grandchildren, Rylan, Avarie, Lili, and Cora Kaczan, Evy Kincaid, Phoenix Thompson, and Ricky Hilleary; sisters, Delores McPeek, Esther Weeks, Phyllis (Emerson) Acord, Patricia (Dennis) Waters, Sharon (Earl) Wallace, and Vivian Wilson; sister-in-law, Lois Flowers, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd E. Renicker; son, D.R. Saffreed; brothers, Kenneth, Roy, Walter, and Chester Flowers; sisters, Jane Hamby, Juanita Lynn, Virginia Flowers, and Naomi Waters, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
