Douglas E. Baker

A Celebration of Life for Douglas E. Baker, 82, of Newark, will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday September 6, 2025, at White Sparrow Events, 675 Heath Rd. Heath, OH 43056.

Doug passed away July 25, 2025, at Johnstown Pointe. He was born December 5, 1942, in Troy, OH, to the late David D. and Doris L. (Garman) Baker.

Doug was a U.S. Navy Veteran during the Vietnam War. He retired from the Newark Air Force Base metrology. He was a member of Heath Church of Christ, Masonic Lodge #771, and Zanesville Riffle Club. He was a longtime drag racer, and he enjoyed golfing with his friends.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Patricia S. (Williams) Baker; children Damon Baker, Lee (Lisa) Baker, Timothy (Dawn) Chester, and Sarah (Sean) Hall; grandchildren, Seanna (Carl Cook) Baker, Breanna (Zach Otis) Baker, Brittany (Alek Rogne) Chester, Heather (Lance) Horsley, Adam Hall, Jared Hall, Jacob Hall, Alexandra (Mitch) McDonough, and Braden Hall; great-grandchildren, Elliot Cook, Alexander Cook, Callie Otis, Amore Horsley, Heaven Keaser, Sebastian Horsley, Paisley Dunlap, Quinn McDonough, Christopher Hall, Josiah Hall, and Shianne Hall, and sister, Delores Anne Baker.
