Douglas S. Brunton

Douglas S. Brunton, 79, of Newark, OH, passed away October 3, 2026, at Country Court Skilled Nursing Center in Mt. Vernon, OH. He was born October 9, 1946, in Glouster, OH, to the late Emerson and Phyllis (Judson) Brunton.

Doug worked for Boeing during his career. He had a passion for cars, firearms, and had a strong interest in karate, where he proudly earned second place at the state level.

Doug was a good dad who loved his family and lived life to the fullest. He was always on the go, staying active and enjoying every opportunity life had to offer until he physically could no longer do so. He will be remembered for his love of life, his determination, and the many memories he made with those who loved him.

He is survived by his daughter, Kim (Bob) Sykes; son, Dustin Brunton; brothers, Lovell Brunton and Rick Brunton; sister, Sharon (Steve) Untied; grandchildren, Jimmy (Nicole) Evans, Brandon Underwood, and Jake Brunton; great-grandchildren, T.J., Braden, Taylor, Ellie, and Liam.
