Douglas E. Lybarger, 83 of Newark passed away on December 23, 2023 at the Selma Markowitz Center. He was born on March 13, 1940 in Glenford to the late Willis Chester and Bonnie Jean Pearl (Detty) Lybarger.
Doug served honorably in the U.S. Air Force. He retired from Owens Corning after 33 years. He was a member of the Druid euchre team. He was an artist and enjoyed playing the banjo, guitar and singing. He loved tennis, hunting ginseng and mushrooms.
He is survived by his children, Leona Lynn Lybarger, George Allen Lybarger, Rolland Lewis Lybarger, Leslie (Kevin) Benner and Chris (Jim) Gutierrez; grandchildren, Alyssa and Bailey Orr, Reannon and Nicole Lybarger, Kenneth, Wayne and Tawnee Littlewolf, Desiree Different Horse, Tabatha and Douglas Lybarger and Terence Blackbear; many great-grandchildren; siblings, Judy (Bruce Britt) Zinser, Sue, Greg, Craig (Cheree) Lybarger and Jan (Penny) Lybarger; significant other, Billie Stemm; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Dianne Lybarger; sister-in-law, Lois Lybarger; and brother-in-law, James Zinser.
No public services will be held at this time. He will be sadly missed by all.
