Edith Wiechel of Newark Ohio passed away Friday, October 24 at the age of 101.

A loving, and well-loved, Daughter, Sister, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Friend, Edith was born July 7, 1924; living in Kentucky, Illinois, Wisconsin, and New Jersey before settling in Newark in 1967 with her family.  She will be long remembered for the warmth, care, and joy she brought to the lives of all she met.

In addition to her parents, Edith was preceded in death by her son, Dennis Charter, her first husband Kenneth Charter, and her second husband Bob Wiechel, as well as brothers Everett and Delbert Noel.

She is survived by her brother, Donald Noel, Daughter, Yvonne Charter, and grandchildren, Lindsay and Brian. She is lovingly remembered by the Wiechel family.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 29, 2025 from 6-8 pm at the Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st St., Newark. A funeral service will be held Thursday, October 30, 2025 at 11:00 am at the First United Methodist Church, 88 N. 5th St., Newark with Rev. Barbara Salyers officiating.
